The Black Hutch.....

Good Morning Everyone, so the other day I was browsing through craigslist, and this caught my eye, I immediately fell in love, so I texted the hubby and said "LOOK", and he said I LIKE IT, and he wrote YOU SHOULD GET THAT!! So me being wrote back and said well it is nice but I don't know, and he wrote back no really it is nice, and I said well honey if you insist I GUESS I can find a spot for it in the house.... me thinking YAYYYYY, but now remember it was all his idea that I get this( so he thinks!!) Anywho we pick it up and bring it home and it fits perfectly where I had envisioned it, then I wash it down not once but 3 times to make sure it was sparkly clean, I go downstairs and get my sunflower dishes that a very dear friend of mine gifted me a couple of years ago( thanks Pam, I Love My Dishes), I put them out and I thought it looked pretty good till Pam said rearrange, so I did with her help and now they look spectacular!!(Thanks Pam) and now I want to show them to you, have a wonderful day!!

Dinner Last Night...

So on Sundays we normally have a very light breakfast and off to church we go, when we get home we usually do our main meal around 2 ish or so, and then we are on our own for later in the evening. Well my husband last night calls me while I am at the store and says, "You know what sounds good" and I say "what", he proceeds to say "deep dish pizza chicago style", and I say" okay where do we get that", he says we make it"' okay well first of all it is 6:30 by the time I get home and they are all looking at me with pitiful starving eyes and I say okay let's make deep dish pizza, so I quick whip up the dough and the hubby comes in and and proceeds to cook the sausage and begins to layer the pizza meanwhile the little kid is saying"I'm not eating that" okay fortunately I had doubled the dough ingredients and had enough to make a totally fabulous cheese pizza for him and his older brother who turned out really didn't want deep dish he just wanted pizza!! The hubby and I finish making the pizza, pop it in the oven and whala here it is and I must say it was very tasty......YUMMMY!!

Easy Orange Chicken Recipe...

Okay so I know that everyone is busy with one thing or another, and most people hate thinking about what they are going to make for dinner, well I came across this recipe awhile ago and it is the easiest recipe to make, kinda on the Chinese side but the american version of it, my family loves it. I serve this with steamed rice, and use soy sauce.
This recipe makes enough for 2 adults and 2 average eating teenagers, but if you have a larger family I would probably double it, I didn't take pictures of this the last time I made it but I will do so next week when I make it again. Make sure that the chicken is thawed out when you make this, I hope you enjoy and if you make it let me know and tell me if you liked it or not!!! See note at bottom.

EASY ORANGE CHICKEN
1 env. onion soup mix
1 (6 oz.) can frozen orange juice, thawed
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. poultry seasoning
4 lb. cut up chicken
Combine all ingredients except chicken. Arrange chicken in baking pan in a single layer, skin side up. Pour orange-onion mixture evenly over chicken. Cover and bake 1 hour at 375 degrees. Uncover and bake 15 minutes more. Baste occasionally with sauce.

NOTE: I added a can of drained water chestnuts and a bag of frozen vegetable mixture(broccoli, cauliflower, carrots)and some bean sprouts and some thinly sliced bell peppers any color will do then I cut some green onions(green part only) and threw these on top when done cooking and before serving. Now all this is optional if you don't want to add anything to it than it will just be the chicken and just as tasty.

I broke down.........

Okay so remember the book I was obsessing about, read previous post, well yes I broke down and bought it, and I am not disappointed at all or kicking myself for spending this money, I actually got a really good deal on it, and I love, love this book, there is something about making bread that really helps me to destress. I don't know maybe it is waiting and watching as the yeast grows or maybe knowing all the ingredients you are using one can actually pronounce their names, or maybe just maybe it is pounding the who-ahh out of the dough that gives me peace, oh well whatever the reason this book will be well used!!!!!!!

I want this book...

I love this book, I have become obsessed with wanting to buy it, but I am battling with the idea of whether I really need this book or do I just want it!!! Well I just want this book and apparently everyone else out there is thinking the same thing I am thinking, they want this book to. Now mind you I have plenty of bread books but for some reason this one has caught my attention and I have been drooling, dreaming, planning for it. Okay maybe not all that, but everytime I see it on ebay or amazon at a reasonable price before I can bid or buy it is gone or the stupid auction just happens to end....urrrr..........! So here is a picture of my new love!!

Who is in the mood for some cafe????

Okay I know I am a coffaholic but listen I only had one cup today, that is like 3 cups less than what I normally take in, and here is the odd thing, at night I will make myself some coffee, drink it and then whamo I am out like a light within 30 minutes no kidding, most people I know usually complain that they can't sleep if they drink coffee at night due to the fact that caffeine keeps them up all night long, not me if I really want a good nights rest I drink a cup of coffee and boom I don't wake up till dawn hits the next day!!!

Funny Car or What........

So a few weeks ago I was at the store and as I came out this caught my eye, I thought what is that,
then I realized it was a real car, not one of those little tykes fred flinstones car, you know the red car with the yellow roof, all my kids have had one. It looked so odd I had to snapp a couple of pictures of it, my friend who use to live in Italy use to tell me about cars that people drove there were like a smashed up soda can, I think this might be one of those... maybe, Shannon what do you think is this what you talked about???

What if.............

today everyone in the world did something nice for another person...
yesterday someone did something nice for you...
today was more beautiful than yesterday...
yesterday it hadn't rained...
today you decided to take walk ...
yesterday you hadn't of stayed home...
today you said have a wonderful day...
yesterday you hadn't been so angry...
today the kids all listened...
yesterday they really disliked us...
today the dogs don't eat my socks...
yesterday they hadn't chewed up slippers...
today the husband hadn't driven his truck to work...
yesterday he had lost his job...
today my daughter has practice till 10 tonight..
yesterday she couldn't walk cause her legs hurt so bad...

What if yesterday never happened and today never came, and tomorrow was not even a thought... Remember no one said life is fair, but we all know that life has to be lived one day at a time. Have a Wonderful Day!

Go check out her site and leave her a big hello! Have a wonderful day, D.

New Blog Header

So I made and put a new blog header yes most of the pictures of sunflowers with the exception of the middle one are mine, I grew these babies, I nurtured them and watered them and if I could have prayed the sun more on them I would have. I had lined an entire plot with seeds and then one day I went out and what did I find but a bunch of seeds strewn about and torn out of their spot of planting, I thought to myself who would have done this to me, then I saw them, yes they were laughing at me, okay well it appeared they were smirking at me, anyhoo I shouted at them and chased after them and they went away sullen as if saying, Geez lady you're no fun!!
Well these bandits must of returned and they continued to dine on my precious seeds, so I tried an idea that I had been using for the rest of my garden and yes it worked!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They stayed away but all these characters left me were 5 little flowers that in the end were taller than me and everyday they smiled at me and I couldn't stop taking pictures of them, in case you haven't figured out, the Sunflower is my flower, my favorite flower, and this year I will no doubtedly be out trying to fight the bandits once again as they dive bomb my flowers but I am going to be ready, and who knows they might just end up as blackbird pie if they don't watch themselves, JUST KIDDING!!!!!! Have a wonderful day.............

Well Valentine's Day is fast approaching, and so here is one of my favorites, yes you know it, it is the Charlie Brown's Valentine Special, and yes you know the family is going to get stuck watching it with me, it is because I love them so much I want them to spend family time with me watching, okay well maybe it is more so that I hate to watch shows by myself!!! Hey the hubby is grown and he is always willing, and the kids well they are kids and they should not question the decisions we make for them, right??
Anyways here is the video just the first part you can click on to watch part 2 and 3 if you would like, enjoy your day!!

Good Morning...

Here I am once again up early on a Saturday morning, I wish I could just sleep in on the weekends but the only time I want to stay asleep is during the week when I have to be up at 6 in the morning, 5 days a week, everyday, Monday thru Friday, and all I think about is "I wish I could sleep in today", same thought every morning during the week, then finally Saturday is here and what happens, like clockwork I am up at 6 in the morning and then the little kid follows. Well this is today's story the same thing, I awoke at 6 and the little kid followed a few minutes later, so much for any me time, none the less, I started my coffee and got my special cup out, and the child orders his breakfast, a sausage sandwich with bread not an english muffin he definitely knows what he likes, I on the other hand wanted something else, something different, something creamy and smooth and most of all HOT! So today I went retro for breakfast, yes I had CoCo Wheats, does anyone still eat this cereal, I was at the store last week and I was going thru the cereal aisle and my eyes landed on this lonely box of cereal and then next thing I know it jumped into my cart and said take me home you will love me, so me being me I brought the cereal home, now would this be considered a cereal or what, none the less I remembered this morning I had this box in my pantry and decided to make it, then I thought I need some toast to go along with this and of course my morning eye opener, my COFFEE, my question is, is anyone else eating this or just me??? Have a wonderful day........ Oh and by the way the book I am reading is French Food at Home by Laura Calder, not Julia Child but very easy on the brain this early in the morning, and also my movie Julie and Julia is playing as I post.....

This was going to be my breakfast only, but it looked lonely!

So Aunt Millie and her Mate came to keep CoCo company!

What a beautiful site for my sore eyes!

See special cup in the background, very nice!
